It was entirely foolish, utterly ridiculous, and perhaps that’s exactly why both men were smiling crookedly, their lips pulled back tight against the teeth they weren’t quite baring at each other.

“Ready now?”

Kabuto nodded as Gin counted, shaking his fist automatically with each number: “One…two…thr— ”

Metal hit metal, and sparks skittered along the edges of the blades.

“Whoopsie,” Gin commented, looking anything but upset. “I guess I oughtta been more subtle-like, ne?”

“It was kind of obvious,” Kabuto returned, a soft bite of reproof in his tone though he smirked and shoved forward aggressively.

Ichimaru twisted his wrist, and Shinsou sliced through the nin’s kunai like butter.

Kabuto’s fingers flickered out briefly against the death god's forearm before he slid back to what he believed was a safe range. Blood dripped from his left fingers.

Gin tried to flex his right hand and winced a little at the pull of cut muscle, then he looked up at his opponent and grinned broadly.

“Now that's in'erestin'. Seems like we’re gonna be here a while…”

*joyinthedance's money is on Gin, but honestly, Gin seems like a top-from-the-bottom, and Kabuto's always seemed like he could bottom from the top, and both of them are just so... so... er...the way that they are, that I don't think it matters one way or the other. ^___^

There were certain signals, little signs that gave the game away and informed him of the rules, and whenever Orochimaru pushed against him too hard, teeth pricking along the nape of his neck, Kabuto shied skittishly, his dark eyes wide and face flushing faintly. He didn't resist; he didn't fight against any of it-- the touches or kisses; Orochimaru's hands or tongue-- but his motions were tense and unsettled, restless and shuddering. He had a way of turning his head so that his hair fell across his cheek and jaw in mussed strands, accenting his youth and the line of his neck, and he gasped, whining softly nearly to sobbing, when his master's fingers drifted down his body, taking possession of it completely.

Orochimaru had never instructed him in this occasional wanton display of faux vulnerability and virginal shivering, but Kabuto was a quick study and he aimed to please.

Summary: It was manipulation and a waste of time and nothing more than that.
Other Notes: This is very definitely a sequel of sorts to Nothing More, Nothing Less, and probably doesn't make much sense without that one. (Though that stands fine without this.) That was Jiraiya's POV and this Orochimaru's...sort of. Damn, he's hard to write.
